Jose P. Laurel / Sotero H. Laurel President’s Scholarship

This scholarship is offered in all undergraduate programs (in LPU - Cavite).

Privileges

  • Free tuition and other fees
  • Monthly stipend for 10 months (June to March)
  • Book allowance per semester
  • Clothing allowance per school year

Qualifications

  • Included in the top ten percent (10%) of a high school graduating class of at least thirty five (35) students
  • Of good moral character
  • Must pass written and oral examinations
  • Filipino citizen
  • Must pass the physical examination conducted by the LPU Health Services Department

Conditions

  • Shall take the program in the area identified and approved by the LPU Scholarship Committee
  • Shall maintain an average of 1.75 or better with no grade lower than 2.0 in all subjects of the program including Physical Education and must pass NSTP
  • Shall carry the approved load a prescribed in the curriculum of the course
  • Shall not drop any subject, or change subject/schedule, or shift courses, without the prior approval of the President during the semester
  • Once disqualified, cannot be reinstated to the program
  • Cannot enjoy more than one (1) scholarship at the same time
  • Shall not be automatically disqualified if any of the following should occur:
    • Failure to pursue the course continuously
    • Failure to maintain the required grades
    • Failure to enroll the approved load of the course
    • Serious misconduct or infraction of rules and regulations as defined in the Student Handbook

Regina P. Laurel Scholarship in Accountancy

Established in honor of Regina Perez Laurel, former Comptroller of the Lyceum of the Philippines University.

Privileges

  • Free tuition, miscellaneous, laboratory, and other fees<
  • Monthly stipend
  • Book allowance

Qualifications

  • Belong to the top 5% of successful examinees in the Accounting qualifying exams
  • Pass the required interview
  • Be enrolled in at least 18 academic units per semester or as indicated in the curriculum
  • Must meet the grade requirement as per retention policy for the Accountancy program
  • With a semestral grade point of average of at least 2.0 with no failing grades in any (other) subject

Mayor's Scholarship

This scholarship provides an avenue for the development, promotion and recognition of academic excellence, talents, and skills among students of General Trias, Cavite. Scholars are to be recommended by the current Municipal Mayor.

Free tuition and miscellaneous fees are available to five (5) students every year the Mayor's Scholarship is renewable every semester.

Conditions

  • Shall carry a load as required in the curriculum
  • Shall obtain a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher
  • Shall have no final grade lower than 2.25 in any subject
  • Shall not enjoy dual scholarships
  • Shall abide by the rules and regulations as stated in the Student Handbook

Teacher Education Scholarship

In order to promote teacher education program and to hone future educators into effective molders of the next generation, this teacher education scholarship will be offered to eligible students under the Bachelor of Secondary Education Program.

Privileges

Examinees belonging to the top ten (10) in the qualifying exam and interview will be awarded with this scholarships with the following discounts:

  • Rank One (1) to Five (5) - Free tuition fee only
  • Rank Six (6) to Ten (10) - 50% discount on tuition fee only

Conditions

  • Shall carry a load as required in the curriculum
  • Shall obtain a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher
  • Shall have no final grade lower than 2.0 in any subject
  • Shall not enjoy multiple scholarships>
  • Shall abide by the rules and regulations as stated in the Student Handbook

Resident Scholarship

This scholarship program is designed to give financial assistance to academically deserving students who qualify for the program based on the student's performance in the immediately preceding semester.

Privileges

  • Full scholar is granted one hundred percent (100%) discount on tuition
  • Partial scholar is granted fifty percent (50%) discount on tuition

Conditions

  • The student must be currently enrolled and with at least a semester residency in the Lyceum of the Philippines University
  • For full scholarship, a 1.5 (grade point average) GPA or higher and no final grade lower than 1.75 in all subjects in the immediately preceding semester
  • For partial scholarship, a 1.75 (grade point average) GPA or higher and no final grade lower than 2.0 in all subjects in the immediately preceding semester
  • Shall have passed NSTP
  • Shall carry a load of no less than eighteen (18) units for the previous and current semesters or the regular curricular load for the degree program
  • No dropping/changing of any subject during the current semester
  • No violation of any University policies/rules/regulations
  • Shall submit completed application form with a copy of the grade report

Entrance / Honor Graduates Scholarship

Privileges

  • Valedictorians. Free tuition and miscellaneous fees for one academic year provided they carry the full semestral load and do not drop or fail in any subject
  • Salutatorians. 50% discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees for one academic year provided they carry the full semestral load and do not drop or fail in any subject
  • First Honorable Mention. 50% discount on tuition fee for one semester provided they carry the full semestral load and do not drop or fail in any subject
  • Editor-in-Chief of the Official Student Publication. 50% discount on tuition fee for one semester provided they carry full semestral load and do not drop or fail in any subject
  • Baccalaureate Honor Graduates (Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, Cum Laude). Free tuition fees for one semester in the College of Law or the Claro M. Recto Academy of Advanced Studies

Requirements

  • Certification of academic honors or Editor-in-Chief position by the school principal or registrar stating the total number of students in the applicant's graduating class
  • Valedictorians and Salutatorians should belong to a graduating class of at least forty (40) students
  • First Honorable Mention should belong to graduating class of at least one hundred one (101) students

Conditions

  • For full scholarship, the applicant shall obtain a (grade point average) GPA of 1.5 or higher in the previous semester with no final grade lower than 1.75 in any subject
  • For partial scholarship, the applicant shall obtain a (grade point average) GPA of 1.75 or higher in the previous semester with no final grade lower than 2.00 in any subject
  • No record of any violation of school policy and regulation
  • Obtained a passing grade/mark in NSTP; Practicum and Thesis subjects

Fun Run Scholarship

This scholarship is funded from the proceeds of the LPU Annual Fun Run.

Privileges

  • 100% free total assessment
  • One set of school uniform per academic year
  • Book allowance of Php 3,000.00 per semester
  • Monthly stipend of Php 200.00 per month for 5 months per semester
  • For full scholarship, the applicant shall obtain a (grade point average) GPA of 1.5 or higher in the previous semester with no final grade lower than 1.75 in any subject
  • For partial scholarship, the applicant shall obtain a (grade point average) GPA of 1.75 or higher in the previous semester with no final grade lower than 2.00 in any subject
  • No record of any violation of school policy and regulation
  • Obtained a passing grade/mark in NSTP; Practicum and Thesis subjects

Qualifications

  • The applicant should pass a qualifying exam given by the Academic Council
  • The applicant who passes the qualifying exam will undergo an interview to be conducted by LPU panel composed of the Academic Council and Guidance Counsellor
  • Applicants who failed either in the written exam or in the interview shall be disqualified from applying again

Sibling Scholarship

Privileges

LPU offers the following discounts on tuition fees for two or more siblings enrolled during the same term:

  • The second sibling*, shall be granted a 20% discount
  • The third*, a 40% discount
  • The fourth*, a 60% discount
  • Succeeding brothers/sisters*, a 100% discount

*based on the order of enrollment

Requirements

To avail of the discount, the following requisites must be met:

  • All siblings must be duly enrolled for the semester applied for
  • The last sibling to enroll must apply for the discount

The application for discount must be accompanied by a National Statistics Office (NSO) certified Birth Certificate covering all siblings. This requirement will be submitted to the SRMD only once and updated for every additional sibling enrolled.

Once approved by the Scholarship Commitee, the applicable discount will be credited directly to the assessed fees of the last sibling enrolled.

Alumni Educational Assistance Program

Privileges

  • 30% discount - College of Law
  • 30% discount - Graduate School (Master's Degree)
  • 15% discount - Baccalaureate Degree as second course/degree

They may also avail of additional discounts on tuition fees for their sons/daughters once every semester.
