Admission Policy

1. Policy

Admission to LPU shall be limited to students who meet the academic standards and agree to abide by the school policies, rules and regulations.

2. Freshmen (undergraduate programs)

2.1 Prior to admission, freshmen applicants shall take the College Entrance Examination (CET). Application for CET shall be processed by the Admission Information Center at the Communication and Public Affairs Department. The Guidance and Testing Center shall administer the CET.

2.2 Applicants for the College of Nursing shall be interviewed at the Dean’s Office after passing the CET prior to admission.

2.3 An applicant who passed the pre-admission requirements for admission shall submit the following credentials to the Admission Section of the Student Records Management Department (SRMD) – Office of the University Registrar upon enrolment.

For High School Graduates

2.4 Applicants who will submit duplicate/reconstructed/certified true copy of Form 138 should submit an Affidavit of Loss.

2.4.1 College Entrance Test (CET) Result and Acceptance Letter signed by the University Registrar.

2.4.2 Original High School Report Card (Form 138)

2.4.3 Form 137 (if available)

2.4.4 Photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the National Statistics Office verified against original NSO Birth Certificate to be submitted upon enrolment or within the semester.

2.4.5 Two (2) pieces 2 x 2 colored picture

2.4.6 Certificate of good moral character issued by the High School principal or guidance counselor.


For Non-Formal Education Accreditation and Equivalency (NFE A&E)/ Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E), Philippine Education Placement Test (PEPT) Passer

2.4.7 Original NFE, ALS, A&E Exam Result or Certification/ A&E Exam Result or Certification / Original PEPT Certificate of Rating; diploma for NFE A&E or ALS A&E (to be submitted within the semester).

2.4.8 College Entrance Test (CET) Permit and Acceptance Letter signed by the University Registrar.

2.4.9 Photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the National Statistics Office verified against original NSO Birth Certificate to be submitted upon enrolment or within the semester.

2.4.10 Two (2) pieces 2 x 2 colored picture

2.5 Graduates of previous school years shall secure from the last high school attended a certification that Form 137 has not yet been forwarded to any college/university or is still in the high school’s file.

3. Transferees (undergraduate)

3.1 A transferee is an undergraduate student form another school who seeks to continue studying in LPU.

3.2 Transferees who apply for admission shall go through an interview at the Dean’s Office, and required to pass the College Entrance Test (CET) administered by the Guidance and Testing Center. The application for CET shall be processed by Guidance and Testing Center. The application for CET shall be processed by Admission Information Center-Communication and Public Affairs Department (AIC - CPAD). The following credentials shall be submitted to the admission Section of the Student Records Management Department (SRMD)-Office of the University Registrar after passing the interview and CET:

3.3 The number of units required for graduation.

3.3.1 Honorable Dismissal

3.3.2 Certified True Copy of Grades/Temporary Transcript of Records

3.3.3 Certificate of good moral character issued by the High School principal or guidance counselor.

3.3.4 Two (2) pieces 2 x 2 colored picture

3.3.5 Photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the National Statistics Office verified against original NSO Birth Certificate to be submitted upon enrolment or within the semester.

3.3.6 Results of evaluation of credited subjects.

3.4 A transferee shall be required to fulfill a minimum of two (2) years residency in LPU.

4. Second Degree Applicants (undergraduate program)

4.1 A second degree applicant is a graduate of any two (2), three (3) year course or baccalaureate course who desired to take up another course in LPU.

4.2 Second degree applicants shall undergo interview by the Dean’s Office (for applicants to the BS Nursing program* and graduates of two (2) or three (3) year course only). All second degree applicants are required to pass the College Entrance Test (CET) administered by the Guidance and Testing Center, except graduates of Baccalaureate courses. The application of CET shall be processed by AIC-CPAD. The following credentials shall be submitted to the Admission Section of the Student Records Management Department (SRMD)-Office of the University Registrar after passing the interview (if applicable) and CET.

4.2.1 Honorable Dismissal/Original Transcript of Record with remarks “Valid for Transfer”/”For further studies”.

4.2.2 Certified True Copy of Grade/Temporary Transcript of Records if Honorable Dismissal is submitted.

4.2.3 Certificate of good moral character issued by the school last attended; except for degree holders.

4.2.4 Photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the National Statistics Office verified against original NSO Birth Certificate to be submitted upon enrolment or within the semester.

4.2.5 Evaluation of credited subjects

4.2.6 Two (2) pieces 2 x 2 colored picture

4.3 The number of units to be credited for a second degree applicant from another school shall not exceed more than one-half of the total number of units required for graduation (not applicable to graduates of LPU).

4.4 A second degree applicant from another school shall be requires to fulfill a minimum of two (2) years residency in LPU (not applicable to graduates of LPU).

5. Foreign Students – Freshmen, Transferees, Second Degree Applicants

5.1 Foreign Students applying as freshmen, transferees, or second degree applicants in any two-year or four-year degree program shall submit the following credentials to the Admission Section of the Student Records Management (SRMD) Office of the University Registrar upon enrolment.

5.1.1 Two (2) original copies and certified copies of High School Documents/Diploma or Transcript of Records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service establishment located at the student’s country of origin or legal residence.

5.1.2 Presents original copy and provides photocopy of High School documents/Diploma or Transcript of Records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service establishment located at the student’s country of origin or legal residence to be certified by the SRMD staff.***

5.1.3 Three (3) 2 x 2 colored photographs

5.1.4 Filled-out LPU application form

5.1.5 Admission Test fee which is non-refundable even if the student fails the exam (Fee is not applicable to CLEP enrollees).

5.1.6 Acceptance Fee to be paid after the student passes the entrance exam.

5.1.7 Student Visa issued by the Bureau of Immigration.

5.2 Additional policies for freshmen, transferees and second degree applicants in the undergraduate programs.

6. All freshmen students shall secure a medical clearance from the Health Services Department within the semester. Those who fail in the Hepa B screening in the CITHM shall be allowed to shift to another program in LPU before the semester starts or the following semester if application to shift is filed after classes have already started.

7. Applicants for admission to the BS Nursing Program should not be more than 35 years old.*

8. Enrolment Period – All students shall enroll during the prescribed enrolment period. Late enrolment may be allowed within two (2) weeks after the first day of classes.

9. Term of Enrolment – Any enrolment in baccalaureate program shall apply for one semester only or summer term and in the graduate program, for one trimester only.

10. Only students whose names appear in the official class list shall be considered officially enrolled in a class.
